Buckie man to be sentenced after admitting bigamy charge
ByReporter
A Buckie man who took a new wife in an Inverness ceremony on Christmas Eve whilst he was already married will be sentenced on May 30.
Kevin Ellis, of East Church Street, did not appear at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday but was ordered to come before Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald later this month.
The 58-year-old admitted a charge of bigamy.
It read that on December 24 last year at the Highland Registry Office in Inverness, he was the lawful husband of Rosemary Ellis, who he married on October 1, 1994, at Turnbridge Registrar’s Office and she still being alive, he did bigamously marry Julie Budge and co-habit with her as her husband.
