A 76-year-old man has pleaded guilty to exposing himself to a woman in a carpark.
James Bell, whose address was given as Culsalmond in Insch, was branded a “dirty beast” by the victim.
At Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, Fiscal depute Anna Chisholm explained that, on April 10, the woman had parked her car at the Beach Boulevard Retail Park and was preparing to leave the vehicle when Bell arrived.
She said: “The woman parked her car at 11am, and a few minutes later the accused reverse parked on the left hand side of her.
“She paid attention due to the close proximity – there were plenty alternative spaces available.
“The woman intended to delay her exit as she was concerned there might be damage to the other car if she opened her door.”
When she looked across, she spotted Bell looking “directly at her”. And when she looked through his car window, she saw he “appeared” to be performing a sex act.
He immediately stopped after she “said something to the effect of ‘you dirty beast'”.
The entire incident lasted two minutes, the court heard.
The woman reported the matter to the police who later traced the accused.
Upon hearing details of the incident, Sheriff Andrew Millar decided to adjourn the case in order for social work reports to be obtained.
But he placed the 76-year-old on the sexual offenders register.
Bell will be sentenced at the end of the month.
