An amateur footballer has denied hurling racist abuse at an opposing player during a match in Aberdeen.
Michael Kindess, 19, pleaded not guilty to acting in a racially aggressive manner at Tullos Playing Fields and Pavilion during the fixture on April 23.
Aberdeen University FC walked off the field about 30 minutes into their Division One (North) game with Kincorth, with a spokeswoman for the university’s student association claiming that an “extremely offensive racial slur” had been aimed at one of their players.
Kindness, whose address was given as Wellington Terrace in Cove, is accused of shouting an offensive racial remark towards another man. He was released on bail and will go on trial in September.
