An accountant has been banned from the road after being caught driving while almost four times the legal limit.
Moira Rendall was reported to the police after being spotted behind the wheel of her black Volkswagen on Longside Road in Mintlaw on June 14.
Peterhead Sheriff Court was told the 49-year-old mother of two was driving to a garage to have her car repaired.
Yesterday, Rendall admitted drink driving.
She had 83 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millimetres of breath. The legal limit is just 22.
Fiscal depute Felicity Merson told the court that when officers stopped her on Longside Road they could smell alcohol on her breath.
Defence agent Marianne Milligan said Rendall, of Balus View in Mintlaw, was concerned about the state of her vehicle and was making her way to a local garage.
She said: “Miss Rendall admits she had some drinks.
“The loss of her licence is going to be a huge inconvenience for her as she needs it for work and to take her children places.”
Sheriff Christine McCrossan banned Rendall from driving for 15 months and fined her £600.
