A 35-year-old Elgin man who threatened to kill his girlfriend because she refused to allow him into her property to get his belongings has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.
Colin Campbell, of Jamieson Drive in the Moray town, appeared for sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday after previously pleading guilty to behaving in a threatening manner towards his partner.
The court heard that Campbell went to the house in Kingussie on May 14 and an argument broke out between them.
Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood said: “He was refused entry and he phoned her and threatened to kill her.”
Defence solicitor Stephen Carty said both parties had been drinking and “tempers were rising”.
He added: “He went back to get some of his belongings and matters did not improve.”
