A teenage girl has been given unpaid work for her role in a violent attack on a man who confronted boy racers on his street.
Michael Stokes challenged a group of youths about antisocial behaviour near his home in Macduff last October and was left with permanent injuries when he was viciously set upon.
Tegan Gerrie, 18, previously admitted causing Mr Stokes severe injury by repeatedly punching and kicking him on the head and body.
Mr Stokes had left his own property around 10.40pm to confront the group of youths who were “revving” their engines late at night and had been disturbing residents for some time.
He shouted at the group, and was then hit on the head with a glass bottle.
He was taken to Chalmers Hospital in Banff for initial assessment and then taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
In April, 19-year-old Calvin Gallon was locked up for 19 months for his role in the attack.
Yesterday, Sheriff Morag McLaughlin ordered Gerrie, whose address was given as Main Street in Aberchirder, to carry out 167 hours of unpaid work.
Gerrie was also placed under supervision for a year.
