A north-east man has been warned he is at the “end of the road” after being caught driving while disqualified three times in as many months.
Jordan Greig was stopped by police while he was behind the wheel of a white Ford Tranit van on Stocket Parade, Mastrick, on February 26.
The 20-year-old admitted to driving while disqualified and without insurance.
He also pleaded guilty to giving police a false name when he was caught, telling officers he was called Robert McPhee.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Greig is currently working his way through 265 hours of unpaid work, following court appearances for similar driving offences in Forfar and Peterhead in April.
Sheriff Donald Ferguson said: “He’s been driving while disqualified three times in 2019.
“It’s remarkable that he’s not ended up in prison.
“It didn’t used to happen like this.”
Greig, of Corse Drive, Bridge of Don, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined a total of £1,075.
He was warned by the sheriff: “If you drive while disqualified again and appear before me you’ll be going straight to prison, and I’d hope others would do the same.
“You’re at the end of the road.”
