Bosses at an Aberdeen city-centre bar and restaurant have admitted a string of hygiene breaches in court.
Inspectors found out-of-date food, broken appliances and allergens in the frying oil when they visited Ninety-Nine Bar and Kitchen on Back Wynd last summer.
Parent company Monkey Bars Aberdeen, based in East Craibstone Street, admitted 13 charges at the city’s sheriff court yesterday.
The firm admitted breaching a number of food safety regulations and failing to comply with improvement notices previously imposed on it.
On July 24, 2018, it was found that items were being stored without use-by labels and others kept past their use-by dates in cupboards and fridges.
Temperature records were not being maintained, while staff had introduced a risk of cross-contamination by storing unlabelled food in a bar fridge.
The firm also admitted leaving doors between a toilet and the kitchen area open, failing to employ an “adequate” cleaning system and not having hygienic hand-drying facilities.
In addition, Monkey Bars Aberdeen admitted it had failed to repair a faulty fridge door and damaged kitchen walls despite having previously been instructed to.
Sentence was deferred until next month to allow a company director to make a personal appearance in the dock.
