Greg Sutherland, described as a prisoner at Inverness, had denied 11 charges of threatening behaviour, and assault to injury. But on the second day of his jury trial, the 32-year-old admitted three assaults and one charge of threatening behaviour. The incidents happened between November 2017 and October last year at various addresses in Tain and Balintore. Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood told Sutherland: “Due to the level of violence only a custodial sentence is appropriate.” A three-year non-harassment order was also imposed by the court.
