A man has appeared in court after being caught with more than 15,000 indecent images of children.
Richard Geddes was also found to have almost 13 hours of video footage on devices belonging to him when police searched his house on Beechview Court in Old Aberdeen.
After confiscating a number of devices on December 13, they found he had direct access to 16 photographs.
But further examination revealed Geddes, 39, had saved thousands more which were still on a hard drive, though no longer accessible.
In total, 15,703 photographs and 243 videos – totalling 12 hours and 58 minutes of footage – were uncovered.
They included 94 images and one video file classed as category A – the most serious.
Geddes pleaded guilty to taking or permitting to be taken indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children. during an appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
He was placed on the sex offenders register and will be sentenced next month.
