A man who threatened to kill a woman and feed her body to pigs has been spared jail.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood yesterday ordered Matthew Baker, 40, to carry out 180 hours unpaid work as an alternative to custody and ordered social work supervision for three years.
Baker, of, Wick, was put on the sex offenders register for the same period and had a two-year non-harassment order imposed when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Baker previously admitted that between July 1, 2016 and July 21, 2018, for his sexual gratification or for humiliating and distressing the woman, he caused others, without their consent, to hear sexual communications and crude sexual remarks about her.
He also admitted that during the same period, on several occasions, he caused her fear and alarm.
