A £4,500-a-month offshore worker who recklessly injured a man with a glass has been fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
Daniel Wemyss, of Ashwood Grove, Inverness, admitted culpably and recklessly throwing a glass at a fellow Johnny Foxes customer on February 10.
The missile struck the man on the face, cutting his lip.
Twenty-six-year year-old Wemyss also admitted resisting arrest.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood deferred sentence last month for a background report.
Fiscal depute Robert Weir told Inverness Sheriff Court that there had been an altercation between the two men.
He said: “Wemyss made an attempt to throw the contents of his glass over him but threw the glass instead.”
Solicitor John MacColl said he had received a character reference for Wemyss from a doorman at the pub, which, he said, was the first time he had received one about a patron.
He added: “My client apologises for his error of judgment.”
