A 23-year-old restaurant worker has been banned from drinking alcohol for two years by a sheriff.
Calum Mackay, of Rowan Drive, Culbokie, admitted at Inverness Sheriff Court driving while more than four times the legal alcohol limit in Avoch. His reading was 91mcgs, when the limit is 22mcgs.
It was Mackay’s second similar offence and he was banned from driving for three years, placed under supervision.
He was also ordered to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to custody.
Defence solicitor Ken Ferguson said his client was taking medical advice as he feared he had an alcohol problem.
