A 31-year-old man has admitted twice assaulting a pregnant woman.
Alexander Tiffin’s jury trial at Inverness Sheriff Court began yesterday after he denied a total of five charges.
But after his victim gave evidence about the first assault, fiscal depute Karen Aitken accepted Tiffin’s offer to admit one assault charge incorporating two incidents, both of which took place in Invergordon.
He admitted seizing hold of the woman, pushing her on to a bed and covering her mouth with one hand and holding her neck with the other in December 2014.
Tiffin, of Raven Cottage, Culbokie, pulled her off a couch, causing her to fall to the floor in June 2017.
Sentence was deferred for a background report until November 14.
