A man who was found with cannabis and more than £1,300 in cash in his car has been jailed for 16 months.
Raimonds Kupreiciks, described as an Inverness prisoner, had earlier admitted at Inverness Sheriff Court, possessing fifteen bags of herbal cannabis with intent to supply in Muir of Ord on June 17 last year.
He also admitted illegal possession of a Stanley Knife blade.
The court was told that police saw a Vauxhall Astra parked at the rear of Vulcan Cottage in the Ross-shire village, occupied by Kupreiciks and a woman.
When officers spoke to them, they detected a strong smell of cannabis and the subsequent search revealed the cash and drugs.
The 32-year-old told police: “It was stupid to get involved with all this.”
