A pensioner has gone on trial accused of a string of historic sexual abuse charges involving young boys.
William Hay faces 16 charges dating back 25 years, with one early allegation relating to an incident at the Aberdeen Sea Cadets unit at Pocra Quay.
It is alleged the 69-year-old, from Aberdeen, sexually assaulted one child and carried out six indecent assaults.
He is further accused of using “lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour” towards the youngsters.
Hay, of Lang Stracht, denies touching a number of the boys indecently and also getting them to touch him.
The offences allegedly happened at various locations around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and allegedly involved 12 boys aged between 10 and 15.
As well as the sea cadets unit, the alleged abuse happened at a primary school, beauty spots, a snooker hall, the premises of an offshore firm and a number of sports and recreation clubs.
The Crown alleges Hay’s first offence took place between 1981-85, with his most recent in 2016.
Hay denies the charges. The trial, before Judge Graham Buchanan, continues.
