The manager of Aberdeen lap-dancing club who attacked a customer and threw them down a set of stairs has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Mohammed Iqbal was working at The Mask on Bridge Street on February 24 when he became involved in an altercation with a reveller.
After bringing a tray of drinks to a table Iqbal, 29, punched the man before throwing him to the ground, placing him in a headlock and elbowing him in the face.
Fellow club worker Chris Masson, 26, saw the pair “wrestling” and joined the fray.
Both staff members then dragged him along the ground before throwing him down a set of stairs and against a bar.
Their victim was left with a broken cheekbone and scarring to one eye.
Iqbal and Masson previously admitted assaulting the man and appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday for sentencing.
Sheriff Andrew Miller described the men’s attempt to remove the customer from the club as “violent and prolonged”.
He added: “He was very quickly overwhelmed by the level of violence on display towards him.
“Despite that, you continued your assault and he sustained injuries including a fracture to his cheek.”
Iqbal, of Anderson Drive, Aberdeen was given 12 months of supervision and ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work because he had assaulted the man to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Masson, of Broomhill Road, Aberdeen, had admitted to the lesser charge of assault and was sentenced 120 hours of unpaid work.
