A man has been jailed for six months after threatening to throw acid at a police officer he branded a “scumbag”.
Dean McLennan, of Davidson Gardens in Aberdeen, admitted behaving in a threatening manner at Kittybrewster Police Station when he appeared at the city’s sheriff court.
Fiscal Jade Wong said the 26-year-old was taken to the station for an “unrelated matter” at 12.30am on Sunday, December 8.
She told the court: “He said he would headbutt officers, and then said ‘you’ll see when you’re sitting with your wife in Union Square and you get acid thrown in your face, you scumbag’.”
The fiscal added that he also threatened to punch an officer’s glasses “through his nose”.
Defence solicitor Ian Sutherland, said McLennan had been drinking heavily and “regrets his acts”.
