A 24-year-old Muir of Ord man who threatened to kill a police officer and his family has been banned by a Sheriff from drinking alcohol.
Gavin Loch appeared for sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court after previously admitting a variety of charges, but mostly offences against the police.
Loch, of Lily Loch in the Ross-shire village, had pleaded guilty to three offences which occurred on November 28, 2018.
He caused a disturbance in Windsor Place, Conon Bridge, by shouting and swearing and threatening police.
He then resisted arrest by struggling violently with five constables before damaging a leg restraint in a police vehicle by biting it.
Then on January 1 last year he broke a bail curfew and then behaved in a threatening manner towards one police constable who was the target of the family threat.
Sheriff David Sutherland ordered Loch to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, remain under social work supervision for a year and have drug and alcohol treatment during his booze ban. In addition, he was placed on a restriction of liberty order between 9pm and 6am for six months.
