A sales director assaulted a doorman after showing off a unicorn ornament to revellers in an Aberdeen pub.
At Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, Ian McGillivray admitted assaulting employee Duncan Bell and behaving in a threatening manner at Revolution Bar on Belmont Street on December 8.
The 33-year-old was enjoying a work night out when he found the ornament.
Defence agent Laura Gracie said he had come off a “stressful year” and his mood quickly turned after previously taking delight in the trinket.
She added: “He’d been having a good time – he’d found a unicorn ornament he was showing to people.”
McGillivray refused to leave the premises, hurling homophobic insults at the security, and putting Mr Bell in a headlock.
The salesman, of Raedykes Crescent in Stonehaven, was fined £640.
