Two men have appeared in court accused of attacking an older man in his home in a north-east town.
Scott Gallon, known as Wood, and Connor MacKintosh appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday in connection with several charges relating to the alleged incident on Friday night in Macduff.
Police confirmed the two men were arrested in connection with an assault that took place on George Street in the town.
Gallon, 30, who gave no fixed address, faces charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and of assault to injury.
MacKintosh, of Aberdeenshire, faces two assault charges and an accusation of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
The 22-year-old has also been charged with five counts of vandalism, and one of impeding or assaulting a police officer.
Both men made no plea in court and their cases were committed for further examination. The pair were remanded in custody.
It is expected that Gallon and MacKintosh will appear again in court within the next eight days.
