A man has been jailed after threatening to “place a curse” on Moray social workers during a tirade of abuse.
Andrew Wheelhouse, of Bishop Auckland in the north-east of England, repeatedly called the Elgin-based staff on September 4 last year.
Yesterday the 42-year-old was jailed for six months at Elgin Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Fiscal Alex Swain explained Wheelhouse also threatened to go to the council office and “smash it up”.
Defence solicitor Stephen Carty explained there had previously been a “degree of friction” between his client and social workers.
He added: “His comments weren’t borne out of a desire to carry anything out but borne out of frustration.”
