A man has been jailed for nearly three years after attacking a man with a glass bottle.
George Stewart appeared yesterday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted assaulting Cameron Scott on Union Street on October 27 last year.
Stewart, a prisoner at HMP Grampian, struck Mr Scott on the head with a glass bottle, causing the bottle to break and injure him.
The 35-year-old also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Defence solicitor, Alex Burn, said: “On that particular night, he was so inebriated he has no recollection of this.”
Sheriff Philip Mann said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault. It was carried out with a weapon and it is only by good fortune that a more serious injury was not caused.”
Sheriff Philip Mann locked up Stewart for 33 months.
