An Aberdeen grandmother has been fined after trying to sneak out of a north-east supermarket with more than £500 of goods.
Sharon Whyte, 42, was stopped by security when she tried to leave Asda Portlethen with a trolley piled up with clothing, groceries and other items on July 12 last year.
She admitted shoplifting at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday and was given a £300 fine.
Whyte, of Hallfield Road, also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.
This caused her to have more than 12 penalty points on her licence – immediately enforcing a 12-month ban from the roads.
