Alex Salmond said he has been living a “nightmare” in a statement following his acquittal of sexual assault charges.
The former first minister said there was other evidence he would have liked to have seen led in court – and added it will come to light at some point.
He said his faith in the Scottish legal system has been vindicated and thanked his friends, family and his “brilliant legal team”.
He was found not guilty of 12 charges and not proven on a single charge.
Mr Salmond said outside the High Court in Edinburgh he’s been living a “nightmare” but says the whole country is living a bigger nightmare, in reference to coronavirus.
