A 25-year-old North Uist man appeared via video link in private at Inverness Sheriff Court today facing several charges of violent behaviour.
James Downie made no plea to allegations of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life, assault to injury, assault and threatening behaviour.
He was committed for further examination and released on bail.

He will re-appear on September 10 and was released on bail.

An Inverness teenager who was outwith his bail address during his curfew hours of 7pm and 7am was admonished today.
Stephen Dick, 19, appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted the breach of bail.
Fiscal depute David Morton said it was an unusual case as Dick had been warned by police earlier on the evening of June 5 about the restrictions.
But when they returned later, Dick was found in the courtyard area of his block of flats in Anderson Court. He was arrested.
Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald took a lenient view because Dick had spent the weekend in the cells.
