A north-east man has appeared in court to face charges including abduction, assault and dangerous driving. Erik Cameron, 35, was arrested and charged following an early morning incident in Inverurie earlier this week. Police were called to a property on Polinar Place at around 1am on Thursday following what officers described as a “disturbance”. They said that a 32-year-old woman, who had been in the flat at the time, did not require medical treatment afterwards. Cameron appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday. He faces a total of 22 charges, including seven driving offences and 11 counts of assault. He has also been accused of abduction and assault to injury, obstructing a police officer and possessing a bladed or pointed weapon in a public place. Cameron, whose general address in court papers was listed as Inverurie, made no plea and was remanded in custody. His case is expected to call again within the next eight days.
