A Highland motorist was handed a fine and banned from driving at a north court.
Dorothy Bryson, whose address was given as Village Road, Dornie, admitted driving while almost three times the legal alcohol limit in the west coast village, near Kyle of Lochalsh, on June 24 this year.
Her breath test reading was recorded at 65mcgs when the legal limit is 22mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath, Inverness Sheriff Court was told.
The court was told she drank some cider before taking the car to the local shop.
Sentencing, Sheriff Sara Matheson fined Bryson £320 and disqualified her from driving on the roads for a year.
The sheriff also ruled Bryson suitable for the drink driver’s rehabilitation course.
If the 66-year-old was to complete the course successfully, it would reduce her disqualification by three months.
