An 18-year-old has been put on the sex offenders’ register for exposing himself to a young woman near a Highland high school.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard Duncan Macintyre was at Glenelg Gardens near the back of Nairn Academy during the afternoon of Saturday February 8 this year when he exposed his genitals in a sexual manner to a young woman.
Fiscal depute Karen Smith told the court the witness was walking along Duncan Drive to Glenelg Gardens on her own at around 2pm when she noticed Macintyre who appeared to be very drunk.
She asked if he was alright and he mumbled that he was fine but when she walked off he followed behind her causing her to call the police out of concern for his condition.
Ms Smith said Macintyre then undid his jeans and exposed himself.
On noticing the officers he pulled up his trousers.
Mrs Smith said: “The witness was understandably alarmed when he undid his trousers and exposed himself to her.”
Sheriff David Sutherland deferred sentence on Macintyre, formerly of Nairn but now living at 1/3 North View Court, West Pilton Street, Edinburgh, until July 3 for a criminal justice social work background report, including a report from the sex offenders’ unit.
He also placed Macintyre on the sex offenders’ register.
