An Inverness man has been jailed for three months for breaking a bail condition.
Jason Ryan, 40, of 22 Balloan Road, failed to show up at the door of his home for a check by police officers on February 19, as required by bail conditions. He then did the same on March 7. He admitted both offences at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Fiscal depute Karen Smith said: “Police officers attended at Mr Ryan’s address on these occasions looking for him and he wasn’t there.”
Ryan’s defence solicitor, John MacColl, said he understood a jail sentence would be imposed given Ryan’s criminal record.
He said: “Mr Ryan and the police have a long-standing history and I think it’s fair to say he doesn’t get on with them particularly well.”
Sheriff David Sutherland jailed Ryan for three months backdated to May 9 when he was taken into custody.
