A 50-year-old man has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a north nursery teacher by driving dangerously.
John O’Donnell, from Inverurie, appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court where he faced a charge of causing the death of 26-year-old Chloe Morrison by dangerous driving.
He made no plea and was released on bail.
Miss Morrison died after being struck by a lorry on the A82 Inverness to Fort William near Drumnadrochit in October and police confirmed that O’Donnell had been charged earlier this month.
Miss Morrison, a nursery teacher from Drumnadrochit, was described as a “shining light” following her death.
Her family said: “We are absolutely devastated at the loss of our beloved Chloe.”
Tributes flooded in from parents of children at Holm Nursery, Inverness, where she worked.
And local councillor Margaret Davidson said: “It is deeply sad.
“Chloe and her family are very well respected and are very much at the heart of the local community in Drumnadrochit and the wider area.
The A82 was closed for several hours while collision investigators examined the scene on Friday, October 25.
