Police were called to Leachhkin Hill Road following reports of a disturbance at 6pm on Monday. John Birrell was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are treating the incident as a suspicious death following a post mortem examination. A 65-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court tomorrow. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Teams of officers spent most several hours carrying out door-to-door inquiries and searching the local area. Police search the verges and undergrowth close to the scene of the incident.
