A Moray man appeared in court yesterday on a charge of attempted murder. Stuart Murray, 43, of Buckpool, near Buckie, made no plea at Elgin Sheriff Court. He was remanded in custody until June 17 when he will reappear at the same court. Emergency services were called to Alba Road in Buckpool just after midnight on Friday following an incident. Kevin Docherty, 48, who is understood to have formerly worked as a panel beater, was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin. His injuries were initially thought to be life-threatening. However, his condition is now said to be stable, although he remains in hospital. Speaking at the time a police spokesman said: “We were called to the scene at around 12:30am. “A 48-year-old man has been injured and was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital with serious injuries. “A 43-year-old man has been detained.” The incident is understood to have taken place in the road outside the men’s houses. Murray is believed to be an engineer who works locally.
