Sentence was deferred for background reports on a 46 year old Inverness man who was caught waving a hammer about in a city street.
Yesterday at Inverness Sheriff Court, Gary Robinson of 20 Muirtown Street, Inverness admitted, on indictment, possessing an offensive weapon in Madras Street on August 14 last year.
Fiscal depute Roderick Urquhart told the court: “Police were on patrol in Madras Street when they saw Robinson wielding the hammer aggressively above his head. He was intoxicated and no-one appeared to be in the vicinity.
“He told police ‘they are going to kill me.’
Defence agent Willie Young said his client was still carrying out a community payback order and a background report would be required.
