The incident allegedly happened on Sunday, June 8 at around 5.40am on MacLennan Crescent in Inverness. Police are particularly appealing for a cyclist who stopped at the scene at the time to get in touch with them on 101. People living in MacLennan Crescent had been asked to stay inside their homes when armed police officers arrived about 5.40am. An upstairs flat and rear garden area were cordoned off for most of Sunday as forensic officers carried out investigations. Inverness man Scott McArthur, 29, appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court last week charged with rape and attempted murder. McArthur was remanded in custody by Sheriff David Sutherland.
