An Inverness man who paid £50 for a 13-year-old girl to strip down to her bra and pants was jailed for three months on Tuesday.
Iain Nicholson, described as an Inverness prisoner, but who previously lived in the Culloden and Smithton area, was due to stand trial at Inverness Sheriff Court.
However the 51-year-old entered a guilty plea to the August 24, 2019, offence committed in Culloden Woods before the jury heard any evidence.
Defence solicitor advocate Mike Chapman said his client was already serving a 30-month sentence with an potential extension of 18 months for other sex offences with his earliest liberation date of May 6.
He asked Sheriff Margaret Neilson not to radically interfere with that release as his client had already served the equivalent of an eight-month jail sentence. Sheriff Neilson deducted eight months from the headline sentence of 11 months.
He said: “A third party knew of my client’s predilection for paying money for sexual favours and she arranged a 13-year-old girl to take off her clothes for him.
“He thought she was at least 16 years of age due to a mention of a college course but there was nothing to suggest she was 18 years of age.
“He is currently on the Sex offender’s Register and the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order indefinitely and when he is released on licence, the terms are strict.
“The authorities will be keeping an eye on him for the foreseeable future.”
