An Aberdeen man is facing jail after for raping three girls and indecently assaulting a woman as she had an epileptic fit.
David Cruickshank touched the 18-year-old sexually when she was having a seizure at a flat in Aberdeen.
He admitted the offence last week – but the plea can only now be reported after a jury yesterday found the 30-year-old guilty of two rapes involving underage girls.
Cruickshank – who previously also admitted raping a young girl when he was 15 – has been on trial at the High Court in Aberdeen this week.
Yesterday, a jury took just over an hour to unanimously convict him of raping another two girls in Aberdeen.
Cruickshank raped a young girl, aged between seven and 11, between November 1999 and March 2003 at an address in the city.
He also raped another girl aged between six and 10, during the same time period.
His crimes only came to light after one of his victims told a family member what had happened to her years later.
The rapist was later confronted and sent a message to one of his victims asking for forgiveness.
During a pre-trial hearing last week, Cruickshank admitted indecently assaulting a woman at a flat in the city’s John Street between November 2005 and February 2009.
Advocate depute Bill McVicar said: “During the seizure she was aware of what was going around her.”
The court also heard Cruickshank attacked a girl when he was 15 years old.
He pinned her to the ground in the kitchen of a property in Aberdeen and raped her between September 1999 and March 2000.
The guilty pleas were accepted by the advocate depute but could not be reported until Cruickshank’s trial finished yesterday.
Judge Lord Uist yesterday put Cruickshank on the sex offenders register, but deferred sentence for the preparation of background reports. His case will call at the High Court in Edinburgh next month.
