A father and son will be sentenced next month after they admitted attacking another man in his home.
Kevin Tyronney and his father, Norman Tyronney, 64, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
The court heard that the victim of the assault, James McDowall, 52, was the new partner of Kevin Tyronney’s mother Jane.
The pair, both of 68 St Valery Avenue, Inverness, admitted assaulting Mr McDowall in his house in Ballifeary Road on March 17 last year.
The court was told that the two men went to the property about 8.40pm and started banging on the front door.
Mr McDowall answered and Kevin Tyronney barged in and began punching him on the head, watched by his mother, it was claimed.
Fiscal depute Laura Ryan said the victim fell to the floor to protect himself.
She added: “He crawled into the kitchen shouting that he had enough and to stop, saying he was going to pass out as both men were kicking him.
“Police were sent to the house to investigate the disturbance and an ambulance was called.
“Mr McDowall was taken to hospital where he was treated for bruising to his ears, chest, upper arms and he had a cut on his head. There were no fractures.”
Sheriff Gilchrist deferred sentence until September 11 before hearing from the defence.
