A delivery driver has been banned from the roads after being caught drunk behind the wheel.
Mark Bremner was on his way home from work in the early hours of April 14 when he was stopped by police on Millburn Road, Inverness.
The 41-year-old, of 6 Keppoch Road, Culloden, failed a breath test, which showed he was almost one-and-a-half times the legal drink-drive limit.
Yesterday, Bremner admitted drink-driving when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Defence agent Willie Young said: “He had been out drinking earlier in the day and made a serious misjudgement about whether or not he was fit to drive.
“He is almost certain to lose his job.”
Bremner was disqualified for a year and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work as part of a community payback order.
