A Lochaber woman was banned from driving for 18 months at Fort William Sheriff Court after she admitted drink driving.
Frances Young, 56, was still two-and-a-half times the alcohol limit at 10am after drinking until 3am.
Fiscal Alison Wylie told Fort William Sheriff Court that Young, of Arden Vale, Torlundy, drove to the local Road to The Isles filling station at 10am on May 2 where staff smelled drink on her breath and contacted the police.
Defence lawyer Neil MacBeath said his client was ashamed of herself.
He added that she had been treated for anxiety and depression in recent years but had been under great stress recently after a cousin of her husband was killed in a road smash and a friend died.
On the day of the offence she had been drinking until 3am.
When she woke later in the morning she believed she was fit to drive along the North Road from her home to the filling station.
The first offender has a grown-up family of two sons and a daughter.
The solicitor said: “Her family owns and operates a local business. She can afford to pay any fine within a month.
“She has faced up to her alcohol problem and has taken strenuous steps to combat it.”
The sheriff said: “I take account you are a first offender and you have made remarkable and successful steps to deal with your alcohol problem but this was two-and-a-half times the alcohol limit.
“I view it seriously.”
He banned Young from driving for 18 months and fined her £550, saying if she completed a drunk drivers rehab course three months would be knocked off her ban.
