A man has appeared in court charged with a serious assault to “danger of life” after a woman was injured in Aberdeen.
The woman was treated in hospital following the incident, which is understood to have taken place within a property in the area.
Two police vans and three cars could be seen parked near Abbotswell Road on Sunday morning.
And now, Kevin Anderson has appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in connection with the matter.
The 26-year-old faced a charge of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life, as well as a further charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Anderson, whose general address was given as Aberdeen, made no plea during the behind-closed-doors hearing.
A spokeswoman for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service confirmed the case against him was committed for further examination and he was released on bail.
No date has been fixed yet for his next appearance in connection with the matter.
Following the incident, a police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called following a report of an injured woman in the Abbotswell Road area of Aberdeen at around 8am on Sunday, April 18.
“She was taken to hospital and released following treatment.
“The incident was contained within an address and there is no wider threat to the public.”
