A Wick man was fined £450 at the town’s sheriff court after admitting careless driving.
George Ronaldson damaged 109 yards of fence after he lost control of his car on an unclassified road and ended up in a field at the Cairns of Stirkoke Farm, near Wick, on December 29 last year.
The court heard that Ronaldson, 42, of Flat 4, The Shore, Wick, had left the scene by the time the police arrived, but was traced later and admitted having been the driver.
Ronaldson, who has previous convictions, was fined £450. His car ended up in a field at the Cairns of Stirkoke Farm, on December 29.
Ronaldson also had five points put on his licence.
