A man has appeared in court after tricking clients of an estate agent into paying money into his personal bank account instead of the company’s.
Michael Goldberg, 29, was working for Martin & Co on Rosemount Place, Aberdeen, at the time of the offence between September 1 2015 and June 6 2016.
He previously admitted forming a fraudulent scheme and pretending payments from the firm’s clients should be paid into a bank account held in his name.
Goldberg, of The Spinney, Watford, obtained £14,617 through the scheme.
Defence agent Michael Burnett told Aberdeen Sheriff Court his client had paid back £8,000 via a cheque and had been making regular monthly payments towards the outstanding money.
Sheriff Graham Buchanan deferred sentence until June for reports.
