Man, 28, faces court accused of serious assault near Aberdeen shop

A man has appeared in court in connection with a serious assault near an Aberdeen shop.

The alleged incident happened near the Spar shop on Provost Watt Drive in Kincorth on Monday night.

A 23-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with an arm injury.

Lee Wilson appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court over the matter yesterday afternoon.

The 28-year-old faced a number of charges, including assault to injury. He is also accused of carrying an offensive weapon, attempt to pervert the course of justice and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Wilson made no plea during the behind-closed-doors hearing.

He was remanded in custody while the case against him was continued for further examination.

Wilson, whose general address was given as Aberdeen, is expected to appear again within the next week.
