An Aberdeen man went to his estranged wife’s business and glued the lock shut.
Michael Wiseman, 45, used superglue to block the keyhole at the Asian Mini Market on Rosemount Viaduct in Aberdeen on June 1 last year.
It meant his former partner could not open the lock and the door had to be knocked down.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard yesterday that his ex called police, who studied CCTV footage of the incident.
It showed Mr Wiseman interfering with the lock at a time when the shop was closed.
Defence agent Graham Morrison said: “The accused and the complainant have been married for about 16 years and separated about two years ago. They have two children.

“The complainant works at the business and runs it with her current partner.
“On June 1, she had left the property locked as she left in the evening at about 7pm.
“The incident in which he glued the padlock was captured on CCTV.
“It was a silly thing to do.”
Mr Morrison said that, since the incident, the couple had “become the best of chums” and he had paid a £500 electricity bill for the shop to make amends for his actions.
He added that, as Mr Wiseman is an oil worker who is based in Nigeria, it would be advantageous to draw the case to a conclusion swiftly.
Wiseman, whose address was given in court as Greenmore Gardens, Woodside, admitted maliciously applying glue to a lock, causing damage, and was fined £400 and must pay within a month.
After the hearing, his ex told the Evening Express: “It was an unfortunate thing to have happen.
“We’re both on good terms now and I am satisfied with how the case has come to a conclusion.”
