A man has been jailed after giving police false details.
Jake Culkin, 25, told police his name was Joshua and gave a false date of birth when the car he was a passenger in was pulled over on the A90 at Charleston on May 9 last year.
Culkin, of Hazeldale Road, Liverpool, pled guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Defence agent Iain McGregor said: “There were no charges arising from this incident. If he had given his correct details there would have been no proceedings arising.”
Sheriff Graham Buchanan ordered Culkin, who is already serving another sentence, to be jailed for six months.
