A north-east man has denied driving while five times the legal alcohol limit.
Andrew Webster appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday over the allegation.
The 64-year-old is alleged to have driven after consuming so much alcohol the proportion of it on his breath was 110 microgrammes in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 22 microgrammes.
The alleged incident is said to have happened at Tesco car park on Castle Road in Ellon on Tuesday.
Defence agent Stuart Beveridge entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf.
Sheriff Ian Wallace fixed a date for a preliminary hearing next year and bailed Webster, whose address was given in court papers as Tarves, on the condition he does not dispose of the car.
