A three-time drink-driver has been banned from the road for seven years.
Dawn Elrick, 32, was handed the lengthy driving ban on Wednesday after she admitted getting behind the wheel while almost five-times the legal alcohol limit.
She was caught after witnesses who were driving behind her became concerned and called police. Officers traced her and she accepted she had been the driver.
Fiscal depute Lynzi Souter said the incident happened around 2pm on June 13 on Craigs Road, Ellon.
She said: “The accused was observed to be sitting on the external doorstep of the property and appeared to be upset. They found her in possession of the keys for the vehicle.”
Ms Souter added: “She identified herself as the driver.”
