A man has denied assaulting another male outside an Aberdeen bar then telling police he had hepatitis C and threatening to cover them in his blood.
Alistair Sorrie appeared from custody yesterday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court over the alleged incidents, which were said to have happened on Sunday.
The 39-year-old faces a total of three charges, including an allegation that he assaulted a man at Victoria Bar on Menzies Road, Aberdeen, by punching him on the head to his injury.
He is further accused of “adopting an aggressive manner” towards police officers on Crombie Road, shouting, swearing and threatening violence.

It is alleged he repeatedly struck his head against the door of the police vehicle, causing himself to bleed, telling officers he had hepatitis C and threatening to cover them with his blood and repeatedly attempting to spit at them.
Sorrie also faces a charge of struggling violently with a number of officers where one hit his head against a door and was injured.
Sorrie, whose address was given in court papers as Victoria Road, Aberdeen, entered a plea of not guilty to all three charges.
His case will call for trial later next month, with a pre-trial hearing set for the start of the month.
