A north-east woman drank two large glasses of vodka before getting behind the wheel, a court heard.
Diane Cormack, 69, of Kinmundy Avenue, Westhill, was on the way to a doctor’s appointment at Skene Medical Practice in Westhill on May 21 this year when two witnesses saw her struggling to park and crashing into a post.
They called police and officers arrested Cormack after she told them she had two large glasses of vodka before leaving for the appointment.
She had 117 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 50mg.
Cormack was not present in court but had pled guilty to one charge of drink-driving.
She was banned from driving for a year, fined £400 and was told her ban could be reduced by three months if she goes to a rehabilitation course.
